Curry: Being targeted by Trump on Twitter was 'surreal'
Stephen Curry had no intention of visiting the White House, citing his disapproval of comments made by President Donald Trump and his desire to ignite change as reasons for his decision.
Regardless, Trump singling out the two-time MVP on Twitter and publicly revoking an invitation that he wasn't planning on accepting anyway has blown Curry's mind.
"It's surreal, to be honest," he said after Warriors practice Saturday, according to the Washington Post's Tim Bontemps. "I don't know why he feels the need to target certain individuals, rather than others.
"I have an idea of why, but it's kind of beneath a leader of a country to go that route. That's not what leaders do."

Curry said he awoke Saturday morning to 20 text messages from friends and family concerning Trump's tweet. Perhaps a handful came from some of his NBA colleagues who used Twitter themselves to address Trump and his antics, like LeBron James, Chris Paul, and Kobe Bryant.

"We're not trying to divide and separate this country," Curry said. "We're trying to bring everyone together and speak about love and togetherness and equality."
