Cubs' Jay works incredible 15-pitch at-bat before singling
Leading off the top of the fifth inning of Friday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago Cubs outfielder Jon Jay wasn't going back to the dugout empty-handed.
Down 0-2 in the count, Jay watched a pair of balls go by before he put on a show. He fouled off the following 10 pitches before smacking a single on an 85-mph change up from Brewers starter Brandon Woodruff.

Woodruff wound up finishing the inning, but his pitch count rose to 92 in the process, thanks in large part to Jay's pesky performance at the plate.
Jay later scored one of the Cubs' two runs in the inning, though the Brewers would score one of their own in the bottom half to tie the game back up.
In his first season with the Cubs, Jay has put together a respectable batting line of .292/.377/.377 over 131 games.
