LSU's Guice will play vs. Syracuse after initially being ruled out
LSU will have Derrius Guice versus Syracuse on Saturday after all, as the junior has been cleared for action just one day after head coach Ed Orgeron claimed he would miss out due to injury.
According to Andrew Lopez of the Times-Picayune, Guice went to LSU trainer Jack Marucci on Thursday morning and asked to take part in the afternoon practice.
Guice's performance in practice was apparently enough to change the staff's mind about his availability as Orgeron deemed him healthy enough to see action versus the Orange.
His presence will certainly be a massive help to the Tigers offense against Syracuse, as he has rushed for 300 yards and four touchdowns in the young season thus far. He led the SEC in rushing last season and entered 2017 as one of the favorites for the Heisman Trophy.
