Alex Len is planning to sign the Phoenix Suns' one-year qualifying offer of $4.2 million before training camp begins Tuesday, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The move would make the center an unrestricted free agent next summer.
Len, the fifth pick in the 2013 draft, is another restricted free agent who found a dry market for his services this summer. As such, it will probably be more lucrative to test the waters without restrictions in 2018.
The broad consensus is that the 7-foot-1 Ukrainian has underachieved in four seasons with the Suns, as he's averaged 6.9 points and 6.2 rebounds on 46.5 percent shooting across 266 NBA games.
