RedBlacks' Tate week to week, Lindley likely to start vs. Blue Bombers

Ottawa RedBlacks quarterback Drew Tate isn't expected to miss an extended period of time with injuries to his shoulder and ribs, but he's likely to sit out Friday's contest against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

"I can't say 100 precent he won't play, the likelihood is he won't," RedBlacks general manager Marcel Desjardins told Tim Baines of the Ottawa Sun.

Tate, who's listed as week to week, per Baines, left Sunday's game against the Montreal Alouettes due to injury and later reappeared on the sideline with his arm in a sling. The veteran was starting in place of Trevor Harris, who's expected to miss about a month with a shoulder issue of his own.

With Harris and Tate both down, Ottawa is expected to start third-stringer Ryan Lindley against the Blue Bombers. Lindley saw action in one game earlier this season. He appeared in 10 NFL contests for the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts between 2012-15.
