Michigan's Tarik Black needs foot surgery, may miss rest of season

Michigan will be without leading receiver Tarik Black for the foreseeable future.

The freshman will undergo surgery to repair a crack in his foot, head coach Jim Harbaugh revealed Monday, according to Nick Baumgardner of the Detroit Free Press.

Harbaugh said he's unsure if Black will return this season. The Cheshire, Conn., native tops the Wolverines in receptions (11) and yards (149) through three games, and has one of the team's three passing touchdowns.

Black injured his foot Saturday against Air Force and was carted off the field.

With only three games on his stat sheet, Black will be eligible for a medical redshirt if he's unable to return this season.
