Auburn's Sean White arrested for public intoxication

Jasen Vinlove / USA TODAY Sports

Auburn quarterback Sean White was arrested Sunday morning for public intoxication, according to Lee County jail records obtained by James Crepea of AL.com.

White, who started 10 games last year, served as Jarrett Stidham's backup Saturday in his return from a two-game suspension that was handed out for undisclosed reasons.

A redshirt junior in 2017, White threw for 1,679 yards with nine touchdowns and three interceptions last year. He played well in the second half of the season before running into injuries, including a shoulder ailment and a broken arm sustained in the Sugar Bowl.

Though he's unlikely to reclaim the Tigers' starting job, White could be a top graduate transfer target after the season if he chooses to go down that road. He also provides Auburn with an insurance option in the event Stidham is forced to miss time for any reason.
