LeBron: '03 draft class not the greatest ever

LeBron James may headline one of the most impressive draft classes in NBA history, but the four-time MVP isn't ready to call it the best ever.

While the Cleveland Cavaliers forward believes the 2003 draft deserves to be in the conversation of greatest ever, he thinks there are two other classes that rank above.

"We are not the best; we are right up there," LeBron told Mallory Chin of HypeBeast.com. "You know you obviously got the ’96 draft; you got the ’84 draft that’s right up there. So for us to even be mentioned as one of the greatest drafts that the NBA has ever seen is an honor."

The 1996 draft class is largely regarded as the greatest ever, headlined by Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Allen Iverson, and Ray Allen. The 1984 draft, meanwhile, features several Hall of Famers, including Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Charles Barkley.

While it may not be the best, at least in the eyes of LeBron, the 2003 draft class still features some of the top players of this millennium, including Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Bosh in addition to The King.
