NBA jerseys are no longer merely pullovers, but an entire basketball experience.

As the NBA's new Nike jerseys roll out this upcoming season, the apparel brand revealed Friday that fans purchasing uniforms - both replica swingman and authentic - will be treated to a NikeConnect system along with it.

By scanning the jersey's jock tag with a cell phone, fans get access to recent highlights from that player, along with exclusive offers on game days, which includes limited shoe releases.

This can only be done with an iPhone or Android device equipped with a NikePlus account and the NikeConnect app. Other features include a pregame countdown to tip-off for the team, box scores, and statistics for the player.

As an added bonus, for those who own NBA 2K18, scanning a certain player's jersey will also bring a "boost" code to improve player stats the game, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.

"We know what we can do - make amazing gear," said Nike vice president of digital innovation Stefan Olander. "But we wanted to do something more and we know the passion that consumers have for these players and their teams."

Swingman jerseys will be worth approximately $110, with authentics coming in at $200. Both will be available for purchase on Sept. 29.

Nike's deal with the NBA - signed in 2015 - runs eight years, costing the company roughly $125 million per year to be the official uniform supplier.
