The CFL is extending the 10-day window for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to make a decision on Johnny Manziel, according to Dave Naylor of TSN.

Hamilton was given 10 days to decide whether to trade, release, or offer Manziel a contract after the quarterback triggered the window, but the league extended the time frame to evaluate Manziel.

"The window was extended to facilitate a process of evaluation for the player. We'll have no further comment until and unless that process has been completed," the CFL said in a statement.

Manziel will be assessed by CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie about an incident in 2016 when he was charged with domestic violence before he will be cleared to play in the league. The charges were ultimately dropped based on conditions Manziel was required to meet.

Hamilton considered signing Manziel but ultimately passed. He remains on the Tiger-Cats' negotiation list.
