Colts yet to decide on starter; Tolzien, Brissett to split reps

Scott Tolzien or Jacoby Brissett?

Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said Wednesday he's not yet prepared to answer that question ahead of Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, adding that both Tolzien and Brissett will get first-teams reps in practice this week to determine who will start, according to Zak Keefer of the Indy Star.

"We'll get both QBs some work and see who emerges," said Pagano, according to Bob Kravitz of WTHR.com.

Tolzien started the season opener but threw two pick-6s and was unable to get the offense moving against a strong Los Angeles Rams defense - though one missing star defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

Brissett took over for Tolzien in the fourth quarter and led the Colts to their only touchdown drive of the day, which included a 50-yard pass to wide receiver Donte Moncrief to help set up the score from rookie running back Marlon Mack.

Andrew Luck remains sidelined as he recovers from shoulder surgery, and Pagano said the star quarterback won't practice Wednesday, according to Kevin Bowen of 1070 The Fan.

Luck has already been ruled out for Week 2, and the Colts don't appear any closer to deciding who will hold down the fort until he returns.
