Beckham makes season debut vs. Lions on MNF

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. made his season debut against the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football.

Beckham was considered a game-time decision and was cleared to play after testing out his ankle during warm-ups. He was officially listed as questionable on the injury report prior to the game.

ESPN's Lisa Salters confirmed Beckham's status on the broadcast.

Beckham suffered the ankle injury during an Aug. 21 preseason game against the Cleveland Browns, after getting hit low by cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun. The Giants' superstar was visibly frustrated upon leaving the field and fell to his knees in the hallway.

Through his first three seasons, Beckham has undergone one of the most productive starts to a career in NFL history, earning Pro Bowl honors in each season, while being named a second-team All-Pro in 2015 and 2016.

Beckham missed the team's opener against the Dallas Cowboys and his absence took a toll on the Giants, who slumped to a 19-3 loss, while posting 233 yards of total offense.
