The Texas Rangers won't wait long to try to capitalize on the value they acquired for pitcher Yu Darvish at July's non-waiver trade deadline.

Texas will promote prospect Willie Calhoun, who is expected to arrive in the majors Tuesday, reports Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News.

Calhoun, the Rangers' No. 2 prospect and No. 64 overall, as ranked by MLB Pipeline, also had his promotion announced on Twitter by family and his girlfriend before cryptically mentioning the promotion himself:

Because he was in the Rangers system before Sept. 1, Calhoun is eligible to appear in the postseason if the team qualifies.

The 22-year-old was acquired along with A.J. Alexy and Brendon Davis from the Los Angeles Dodgers for Darvish.

During his 2017 minor-league season, Calhoun hit .300/.355/.572 with 31 home runs and 93 RBIs split between Triple-A Oklahoma City and Round Rock.
