South Florida, Illinois talk relocating game due to Hurricane Irma
No. 22 South Florida could have its second consecutive game affected by the disastrous effects of Hurricane Irma.
The Bulls are scheduled to take on Illinois at home Friday, after last week's game against UConn was cancelled because of the storm, but with Irma threatening yet again, Illinois has reportedly offered to host the game in order to keep both program's schedules on track, according to Joey Knight of The Tampa Bay Times.
South Florida athletic director Mark Harlan issued a response via Twitter, assuring everyone that the matter will be resolved at the proper time.
"Regarding this, all we care about is keeping everyone safe," Harlan said. "When appropriate, we will address this and be thoughtful. Everyone take care."
Illinois spokesman Kent Brown issued an update on the progression of talks between both schools, saying that he does not expect a decision to be announced until Monday at the earliest, according to Tim Ditman of The News-Gazette.
