New York Mets right-hander Noah Syndergaard has been scratched from his scheduled, 50-pitch simulated start on Sunday due to what the club is calling "general soreness", according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

While the organization has yet to release additional details, Syndergaard doesn't appear to have suffered a setback. He is now slated to throw a bullpen session Tuesday when the Mets travel to Chicago to play tge Cubs.

"We're not going to push him. We'll go at his pace," manager Terry Collins said.

The 25-year-old stud completed his second rehab start on Thursday, tossing two innings while surrendering three earned runs with two strikeouts and two walks.

Syndergaard hasn't pitched in the majors since suffering a partially torn lat muscle in a start on April 30.
