Matt Jones' time with the Indianapolis Colts lasted just six days.

The running back was released by the Colts on Saturday in order to make room for guard Adam Redmond.

After two seasons with the Washington Redskins, Jones was released on roster cutdown day last Saturday. He had reportedly grown unhappy with his reduced role in the Redskins' backfield. Indianapolis successfully claimed him off waivers the following day.

The Colts appear set at the position with starter Frank Gore and backups Robert Turbin and rookie Marlon Mack.
