Buccaneers-Dolphins postponed to Week 11 due to Hurricane Irma

Jasen Vinlove / USA TODAY Sports

The Week 1 game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins, scheduled to be played in Miami, has been postponed until Week 11 due to Hurricane Irma's potential impact, the NFL announced Wednesday.

Both the Buccaneers and Dolphins were scheduled for a bye in Week 11.

The game will be played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Sunday, Nov. 19.

The league determined Tuesday that the game would not be played in Miami this week with the ongoing state of emergency in South Florida, and was also looking into playing the game at a neutral site in Week 1. Pittsburgh and Philadelphia were under consideration, sources told Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

The Dolphins will maintain their seven home games, as they'll act as hosts to the New Orleans Saints for their Week 4 game in England's Wembley Stadium.
