Ntilikina says he's trained with Melo, other Knicks recently

Frank Ntilikina has had a busy summer acclimatizing to sporting life in New York City.

The Knicks' No. 8 pick told reporters that he's been working out with disgruntled star Carmelo Anthony, Lance Thomas, and other Knicks players in New York this summer, according to ESPN's Ian begley.

The development is of note, of course, because Anthony's name has come up in trade rumors since he began to fall out with the franchise's leadership, though the no-trade clause in his contract allows him some measure of autonomy in deciding when and where he can be traded. At one point this summer, Anthony had reportedly narrowed his choice down to the Houston Rockets, though the Portland Trail Blazers had also "piqued" his interest.

For now, it appears that the franchise pillar and his teenage teammate will have some chemistry heading into the season if Anthony does indeed remain a member of the Knicks.

"We were just focusing on playing and whatever will happen, will happen," Ntilikina told reporters.

Ntilikina made the comments prior to taking in Sunday's matinee matchup between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, where he hoped to meet a fellow New York rookie, breakout slugger Aaron Judge.
