Report: Alabama's Miller, Lewis to miss remainder of season due to injury

John David Mercer / USA TODAY Sports

Alabama earned a big victory over Florida State in its season opener Saturday, but the win came at a cost.

The Crimson Tide will be forced to fill two holes on their defensive depth chart, as starting linebacker Christian Miller suffered a torn biceps and sophomore linebacker Terrell Lewis suffered a torn ligament in his elbow, according to Matt Zenitz of Al.com, citing sources.

Both players are set to miss the rest of the season. Lewis is expected to undergo surgery Tuesday.

Miller entered the campaign as a starter on the linebacking corps for Alabama, after recording 16 tackles and two sacks last season.

In 11 games as a freshman last season, Lewis recorded 11 tackles and one sack.
