Report: Redskins' Cravens contemplated retirement after 1 season
Su'a Cravens, a 22-year-old safety and 2016 second-round draft pick of the Washington Redskins, told members of the organization as recently as this weekend that he planned to retire after just one season, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
The Redskins' projected starting strong safety sat down with team staff and has opted against retirement for the time being, Schefter adds, citing league sources.
Regardless, the Redskins are placing the youngster on the non-football exempt list and will keep him out for at least one month, according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post.
Cravens revealed in October that a concussion he suffered in Week 4 last season has damaged his sight to the point that he has trouble following moving objects.
"Due to my concussion, my eyes have lost the memory to keep track of moving objects, so I have to wear (glasses) for the rest of my life," Cravens said.
He is currently rehabbing from knee surgery he underwent in August.
