Georgia quarterback Jacob Eason left Saturday's game against Appalachian State with a knee injury, and limped back to the locker room for further evaluation.

The standout sophomore suffered the injury on a late hit out of bounds in the first quarter of the Bulldogs' opening game.

Head coach Kirby Smart offered an update at halftime of the contest, indicating it doesn't appear to be a serious injury.

"Got a little bit of a knee sprain," Smart said on radio at halftime, as per Seth Emerson of Dawg Nation. "We think he could be back as early as possible. We don't know when that (would be)."

The Bulldogs are up 21-0 at the half thanks to the play of freshman backup Jake Fromm and a dominating running attack.
