Matthew Emmons / USA TODAY Sports

Michigan revealed Wilton Speight as the winner of its quarterback competition for the second year in a row Saturday, giving him the start in the season-opener versus Florida.

Speight battled John O'Korn and Brandon Peters for the starting job throughout fall camp. Head coach Jim Harbaugh refused to announce a starter before the game.

Speight, a senior, threw for 2,538 yards with 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions last season.
