Diego Costa may have a future at Chelsea after all.

After months of speculation over his future at the club amid his self-imposed exile in Brazil, Costa was included in the 25-man squad that Chelsea and Premier League clubs had to register before Friday's deadline.

Costa had been heavily linked with a transfer to Atletico Madrid following his claim that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte informed him that he wasn't in the team's plans for the 2017-18 campaign.

A move to Atletico is still possible considering that the Spanish transfer window doesn't close until Friday night at 11 p.m.

It's understood that the two teams have been in talks in recent weeks, with Atletico's president, Enrique Cerezo, revealing earlier this week that he's optimistic that a deal will be completed.

But Chelsea's reported unwillingness to lower its valuation has been the main obstacle.
