Bulls' Quincy Pondexter: Traded to Chicago

Pondexter, along with a 2018 second-round pick, was traded from the Pelicans to the Bulls in exchange for a pick and cash on Thursday, Vincent Goodwill of CSN Chicago reports.

Analysis:

Pondexter hasn't seen the floor since the 2014-15 season due to three separate knee surgeries, though the Bulls don't seem to mind the risk, assuming management doesn't waive him. Pondexter, at 29-years-old, will give Chicago both a veteran presence and a three-point threat. He's shot 36.5 percent from deep on his career, with his best season from beyond the arc coming back in 2012-13 when he made 39.5 percent of his shots from distance. His path to significant playing time is cloudy, however, as the Bulls are seemingly in full-on tank mode and are assumed to be prioritizing the development of their younger players. For that reason, plus his injury history, it's probably safe to avoid Pondexter in the vast majority of fantasy formats.
