Report: Derek Fisher pleads no contest to DUI
Derek Fisher has pleaded no contest to a DUI charge after previously pleading not guilty, according to TMZ Sports.
The ex-NBA player was charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated in connection to a crash on a Los Angeles freeway in early June. Fisher, 43, was in the car with his girlfriend, Gloria Govan, and neither were injured in the single-vehicle accident.
Fisher reportedly pleaded no contest to driving with a B.A.C. of .08 percent, meaning he was legally impaired.
As a result, Fisher has been placed on probation and must complete an alcohol education class and 100 hours of community service. He also must participate in a MADD victim impact panel and install a device in his car that will check his breath before he can operate it.
