Real Madrid's compromised Twitter account caused temporary heart palpitations across the globe after "announcing" the signing of Lionel Messi early Saturday.

Hackers group OurMine targeted Madrid just days after tapping into Barcelona's system to "unveil" Angel Di Maria.

"Internet security is shit and we proved that," the group wrote in a since-deleted tweet on Madrid's Twitter page.

The welcome tweet included a video of Messi's famous last-minute goal to win April's El Clasico.

The post was live for about 90 minutes before Madrid removed it, according to the Press Association, accruing more than 27,000 retweets in the process. It was also published on Facebook.
