Rory McIlroy showed the benefit of having a great short game Friday at The Northern Trust.

McIlroy appeared to be on his way to his second bogey of the round after splashing his tee shot at the par-3 17th. However, after taking a drop by the water hazard, the Northern Irishman knocked his 89-foot chip shot into the hole for par.
