UTSA and Frank Wilson seem to be in agreement when it comes maintaining their relationship, as the two sides have agreed to a new five-year contract extension, according to Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated, citing a source.
The deal will reportedly pay Wilson a total of $1,050,000 in 2017, making him the highest-paid head coach in Conference USA.
Wilson led the Roadrunners to a 6-7 overall record in his first season at the helm in 2016, but a conference record of 5-3 was good enough for a second-place finish behind Louisiana Tech in the West Division.
UTSA managed to qualify for the New Mexico Bowl last season, but suffered a 23-20 defeat at the hands of New Mexico.
