Matt Hughes is getting back to his old self.

Two months after he was hospitalized due to a collision between his truck and a moving train, the former UFC welterweight champion hit the mats for a jiu-jitsu session with friend Tony Zucca in a video posted to Zucca's Instagram page on Monday.

Hughes was rushed to hospital in Springfield, Ill. on June 16 after a train struck his truck on the passenger side while he attempted to cross tracks in Raymond, Ill. The 43-year-old did not sustain any broken bones or internal injuries in the crash, although he was only slightly responsive in the days following the accident.

Zucca has since provided evidence of Hughes' miraculous recovery, posting a photo of the two of them on a quest to get sushi just last week.

Hughes - a two-time UFC champ at 170 pounds - retired in 2013, but had openly entertained a return to the Octagon earlier this year.
