Serbia will be without its floor general for the upcoming EuroBasket tournament in September.

The Serbian Federation announced Sunday that Milos Teodosic will not play after he missed portions of training camp and exhibition games due to a lack of fitness, as relayed by Eurohoops.

Earlier this weekend, it was announced that Greek star Giannis Antetokounmpo will also sit out due to injury. Both absences are massive losses for the tournament.

Teodosic will make his long-awaited move to the NBA as he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers this summer. A joint decision was made between the Clippers and Serbian team doctors to hold the 30-year-old from play.

His absence marks a massive loss for the Serbians. Teodosic is not just their best playmaker, but he is looked upon as Serbia's undisputed leader. The onus will fall on Bogdan Bogdanovic to take up Teodosic's mantle.

Teodosic is widely considered one of the best guards in Europe. He averaged 16.1 points and 6.8 assists in Euroleague play last season. He is expected to compete with Patrick Beverley for the starting spot for the Clippers next season.
