The Los Angeles Clippers have reached an agreement to sign free-agent center Marshall Plumlee, reports ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
He will join the team on a partially-guaranteed contract.
Plumlee broke into the league last season after four years at Duke as an undrafted free agent of the New York Knicks. The 25-year-old only logged 170 minutes across 21 appearances and showed little beyond a high motor and a willingness to bang in the post.
The Knicks waived Plumlee this summer, but the Clippers evidently saw enough out of the young center to add him as a potential depth piece.
Plumlee will compete with Willie Reed and Montrezl Harrell for backup minutes behind DeAndre Jordan.
