Georgia Tech dismisses leading rusher Dedrick Mills

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Georgia Tech will need to fill a significant void in its backfield going forward, as the school announced running back Dedrick Mills has been dismissed from the program, according to David Hale of ESPN, citing an official release from the school.

The reason for Mills' dismissal was listed as a violation of team rules, according to college football insider Brett McMurphy.

Mills tallied 771 yards on the ground last season along with 12 rushing touchdowns for the Yellow Jackets, which was good enough to lead the program.
