Report: Georgia's Parrish suffers broken bone in foot

Georgia could be without one of its most prominent secondary players to start the season, as Malkom Parrish required surgery to repair a broken bone in his foot, a source told Seth Emerson of DawgNation.

The senior cornerback was absent from practice Wednesday, and the team has yet to make an official comment on his status. Losing him for any extended period will rob the Bulldogs of one of their top defensive talents to start the season.

Emerson notes that an injury of this kind can keep a player out of action for several weeks.

Parrish provided the Bulldogs with 49 tackles, nine pass breakups, two interceptions, and a sack last season.
