Vegas likes Westbrook, Durant as 2018 MVP favorites
Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant are the leading candidates to win Most Valuable Player for the 2017-18 NBA season, according to odds released by Bovada.
Westbrook was the runaway winner for MVP last year following his historic triple-double campaign. His astronomical individual numbers trumped an otherwise pedestrian showing from an Oklahoma City Thunder squad that finished with only 47 wins before bowing out of the playoffs in a gentleman's sweep.
Durant took home MVP honors in 2014, also while he was with the Thunder, but injuries and joining the Golden State Warriors have dampened his case ever since. Nevertheless, with the Warriors poised to repeat as champions, Vegas likes Durant as a strong favorite.

Stephen Curry and LeBron James are the only other previous MVP winners given any odds of significance. James holds the fourth-highest odds, while Curry ranks seventh.
