The Houston Rockets announced team owner Leslie Alexander has contributed $4 million to disaster relief efforts in the wake of the large-scale destruction of southeastern Texas caused by Hurricane Harvey.

In a show of solidarity with the community, Alexander and the Rockets' organization stated:

Our hearts are heavy seeing the devastation that so many of our friends, family and neighbors are experiencing. Leslie Alexander has contributed $4 million to Mayor Sylvester Turner's Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund in an effort to help Clutch City come back stronger than ever. Please stay safe, Houston.

Superstar point guard Chris Paul, who joined the Rockets this offseason, also announced a donation of his own, pledging $50,000 to the fundraising efforts of Houston Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt.
