LSU loses yet another QB to transfer; Lindsey Scott Jr. to leave program

Stephen Lew / USA TODAY Sports

LSU's depth chart at the quarterback position thinned out on Monday, as redshirt freshman Lindsey Scott Jr. announced he will be transferring out of the program.

While Scott was unlikely to start for the Tigers in 2017, his departure signals a significant loss in relation to both in-state recruiting and the recent history of LSU's overall quarterback recruiting. Scott also becomes the 11th player to leave the program over the course of this offseason alone.

According to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate, LSU has now seen 13-of-18 quarterback recruits signed since 2005 either transfer, move positions, or wind up dismissed from the program.

Only Jarrett Lee, Jordan Jefferson and Zach Mettenberger have finished their careers at LSU, while both Danny Etling and Justin McMillan remain on the roster.

With Scott gone, McMillan will now compete with freshmen Myles Brennan and Lowell Narcisse for the No. 2 spot behind Etling as the anticipated starter.
