Matsuyama's Round 2 brilliance makes him favorite to win 1st major

Hideki Matsuyama didn't just fly up the PGA Championship leaderboard with Friday's sizzling round of 64, as the Japanese star moved up the betting board as well.

According to Friday evening's updated odds from Jeff Sherman of Golfodds.com and the Westgate Superbook, Matsuyama is now the favorite at 7-5.

Jason Day is next at 9-2 after a birdie binge saw the Australian finish with a sparking 66 on the day. The 2015 champion sits just two shots behind Matsuyama and co-leader Kevin Kisner, who is next on the board at 6-1.

Rickie Fowler's a past winner at Quail Hollow, and that history has the 28-year-old listed at 10-1 this weekend despite the fact he's five shots off the pace.
