Just seven months after joining Juventus, industrious midfielder Tomas Rincon moved to crosstown rival Torino on loan Friday.

The Bianconeri confirmed the Granata paid a €3-million fee to acquire Rincon for the 2017-18 campaign. The deal will become permanent for an additional €6 million if the Venezuelan participates in a certain number of matches.

Rincon swapped Genoa for Juventus in the January transfer window and claimed the first silverware in his club career, winning both Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

But that was the extent of his fortune with the reigning Italian champion. Although Rincon played all 90 minutes in the Coppa Italia final against Lazio, manager Massimiliano Allegri handed the 29-year-old just two league starts over the first half of 2017.

Rincon is the 18th player to leave the Old Lady this summer on loan or on a permanent transfer.

Torino now has a replacement for Marco Benassi, the promising 22-year-old midfielder who captained the club on several occasions last season.
