Could Kobe Bryant come out of retirement?
Ice Cube sure hopes so, and he'd like to see the Los Angeles Lakers legend join his new three-on-three league.
The rapper and BIG3 commissioner revealed he's talked to the 38-year-old Bryant - who retired from the NBA following the 2015-16 season - about making a return to the hardwood as a BIG3 player.
"I hope so, one day," Ice Cube recently said on "KTLA Morning News."
"I hope his competitive juices get the itch in him and he wants to, you know, come in the league and score 50 and win the game. We hope he'll play one day. But if not you know we still got some great players. Still competitive guys that want to play."
Bryant averaged 25 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.7 dimes, and 1.4 steals per game over 20 seasons spent exclusively with the Lakers. He won five championships, two scoring titles, and an MVP award over his illustrious career.
Ex-Laker Nick Young is excited about the possibility of his former teammate playing in the BIG3.
"If you can get Kobe, I wanna see that happen," he told TMZ Sports.
Allen Iverson, who's a player-coach on 3's Company, previously said his dream BIG3 team would feature him, Bryant, and Shaquille O'Neal.
