Les Miles: 'I look forward to leading a team onto the field'

Les Miles may be working for the media during the 2017 season, but that doesn't mean he's given up on coaching.

The former LSU head coach told Ross Dellenger of The Advocate that he hopes to be back on the sidelines for the 2018 season.

"I have put time in and I’m so much more prepared to coach than I am to … there are things I know about a college football game that, frankly, I prepared a lifetime to know," Miles said. "I look forward to leading a team onto the field."

The Tigers let the 63-year-old go early last year, and despite reportedly being a candidate for several vacancies at season's end, Miles opted to take a break from coaching. It remains unclear what Miles' role this season will be, though he'll certainly be enjoying it.

"I’m going to be in media and in a number of different places," Miles said, "and I’m going to have a blast."
