The Baltimore Ravens signed free-agent offensive tackle Austin Howard, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Howard inked a three-year deal worth $16 million, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who adds the lineman will earn $5.5 million in 2017 with team options for 2018 and 2019.

Howard - who was recently released by the Oakland Raiders - was in Baltimore on Friday to take a physical. The 30-year-old will likely slide into the starting right tackle spot, replacing Rick Wagner, who left in free agency.

The Ravens have already lost center John Urschel (retirement) and rookie guard Nico Siragusa (knee injury), so adding more bodies to the offensive line was a priority.

While Howard struggled last year, even alongside the strong talent on the Raiders' line, he represents an upgrade over projected starter James Hurst.
