NESN broadcaster and Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley returned to the booth at Fenway Park on Thursday and acknowledged that the last few weeks have been difficult.

"I don't want to bebop around it, it's brutal really," Eckersley said of the events following a highly publicized confrontation with Boston Red Sox starter David Price. "It's a very unfortunate set of circumstances, but I think everybody wants to move on. I'm the guy who wants to move on. I want to say the fans have been great. The support that they've given me is incredible. But lets move on, the Red Sox are trying to win."

Price confronted Eckersley during a team flight in mid-June for being too critical of his Red Sox teammates while serving on the broadcast.

The left-hander added that Eckersley needs to show his face around the clubhouse more. While it seems no conversation has taken place since, Price acknowledged he would chat with Eckersley when the two meet face to face.
