Eckersley 'moved on' from Price incident, won't change broadcast style

Boston Red Sox left-hander David Price might not get an opportunity to apologize to Dennis Eckersley after all.

Price and Eckersley's confrontation on a team plane in June has been well publicized, and despite Price stating last week that he plans to talk to the Hall of Famer, Eckersley doesn't seem to think a conversation is needed.

"I'm cool with everything," Eckersley told Dan Shaughnessy of the Boston Globe. "I've moved on. I'm just going to keep doing what I do, which is call it like I see it. It's all about the Red Sox and the ultimate goal of winning it all."

Price deemed some of Eckersley's comments on a NESN broadcast as being overly critical of certain Red Sox players. Price would later acknowledge that he could have handled things differently, but also said that Eckersley is one of the few broadcasters who don't show their face in the clubhouse.

"I mean, if you're going to say what he says, you know, come around. Just show your face," Price said last week.

Eckersley happened to be at Fenway Park on Tuesday after attending the Hall of Fame ceremony at Cooperstown over the weekend, and was greeted by a standing ovation when showed on the video board.

Eckersley will return to the broadcast booth Thursday when the Red Sox open a four-game series in Chicago against the White Sox, while Price is currently on the disabled list with elbow inflammation.
