Five-star freshman center Mitchell Robinson was issued an indefinite suspension by Western Kentucky for a violation of team rules.

"Mitchell is a good kid, but the team will always be more important than one individual player," associate director Zach Greenwell in a statement. "He needs to understand the value of structure and accountability in his life, and his return will be dependent upon requirements that will be handled internally.

"My focus is on our team, and I'm excited about this group as we prepare for next week's trip to Costa Rica."

Mitchell reportedly left campus after attending classes for the past two weeks, and his room was cleaned out, sources told Gary Parrish of CBS Sports.

While no reason for his departure has been given, his godfather, assistant coach Shammond Williams, leaving the program may have played a part.
