Louisville's Deng Adel: Expected to return in late August

Adel is expected to be medically cleared to play in late August following thumb surgery, Jeff Greer of the Courier-Journal reports.

Analysis:

Adel suffered from the injury in June and has missed the last six weeks of offseason workouts as a result, but it appears as though rehab has been going just find for himand he should be making a full recovery. Adel is coming off a strong campaign for the Cardinals last season where he averaged 12.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, and with the departure of Donovan Mitchell to the NBA, he'll likely take on an even larger role at shooting guard and on the wing.
