GSP: 'If I lose, I'm finished'

For Georges St-Pierre, this could be the end.

The UFC legend has signed on to fight Michael Bisping for the middleweight title at UFC 217 on Nov. 4. If he wins, he's contractually obligated to defend his belt and is currently lined up to do so against Robert Whittaker in order to unify the middleweight belts. Another bout is not promised if he loses, however.

"Yeah, I believe if I lose, I'm finished," St-Pierre told Ariel Helwani on "The MMA Hour" on Monday.

"You never say for sure ... but if I lose, I think I'm finished. But I do not expect to lose. I do expect to win and to be there for a few more (fights)."

In order to take the belt from Bisping, St-Pierre said he will change his trademark approach and will instead be more aggressive, come forward, and go for the finish.

"I'm going to be more opportunistic," he said.

St-Pierre hasn't fought since 2013, and almost saw the match with Bisping fall by the wayside, but the former welterweight champion is glad it's back on.

"That's the fight I wanted, that's the fight Michael wanted, and I think that's the fight people want to see," he said. "I put a lot of muscle mass on myself to compete at 185."
