Ole Miss continues to lose recruits in wake of Freeze resignation

Jim Brown-US PRESSWIRE

The fallout of Hugh Freeze's resignation and subsequent discoveries continues to negatively affect Ole Miss, as three-star recruits Blaine Scott and Israel Antwine announced they are decommitting from the Rebels.

Scott made his announcement in a statement posted to Twitter, while Antwine's father informed Scott Wright of The Oklahoman of his son's decision.

"Due to recent events that have happened at the University of Mississippi, myself, my parents and my coaches believe that it is in my best interest to reopen my recruitment and start looking at other options," Scott said.

Scott and Antwine are not the only Ole Miss recruits to leave the program following Freeze's resignation, as cornerback Jaylin Williams, along with 2019 cornerback Bobby Wolfe already decommitted, according to Jake Rill of SEC Country.

Ole Miss' 2018 class now sits at nine and is lacking a single ESPN 300 recruit, while its 2019 class is currently empty.
