Report: Gallinari injured hand in on-court fight; no surgery expected
While Sunday's game between the Italian and Dutch national teams was billed as a friendly, there was no love lost between the two sides in the exhibition.
Gallinari reportedly injured his right thumb in a minor fight with Dutch center Jito Kok, but is on track to be back to full health in time for the Los Angeles Clippers' training camp, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The injury appears minor enough to avoid surgery at this time.
With Gallinari jostling for position in the paint, Kok caught his Italian counterpart with a dirty straight-arm. The two exchanged blows, with the Clippers forward landing a big right hand on Kok's face.

Gallinari has a history of lower body injuries to his knees, ankles, thighs, and groins, notably missing the entire 2013-14 season with an ACL injury. However, this appears to be the most significant upper-body injury sustained by Gallinari to date.
While the Italian national hasn't logged a minute with the Clippers yet, it's almost poetic that he'll join a frontcourt led by power forward Blake Griffin, who fractured his hand in an altercation with a team staffer in January 2016.
