Hornets GM Cho launches food review site

When Charlotte Hornets general manager Rich Cho isn't trying to bolster his team's championship aspirations, he's busy giving culinary critics a run for their money.

After months of using his personal Instragram feed "bigtimebites" to deliver impassioned critiques of some of the best food he's come across in his travels as an NBA executive, Cho announced Saturday that he has officially spun off his hobby into a full-blown standalone site.

“I definitely have some (meals) that I would - and this may be as silly as it sounds - I would take an overseas flight just to go there for,” Cho told The Crossover's Jake Fisher in a profile on his newly launched project. “There’s so much good food around the world.”

In addition to Cho's personal reviews, anyone can sign up to submit their own food critiques. In a nod to Cho's day job, the rating system for these "scouting reports" ranges from "Rotation" quality on the low end, to "Hall of Fame" on the upper end of the scale. The user who submits the "Scouting Report of the Week" will earn Bigtime Bites prizes.

If Cho's ability to assess the Hall of Fame qualities in a ricotta gnocchi are any indication, Hornets fans could be on the verge of a return to postseason action in the near future.
