Watch: Hughes finesses iron shot beside tree onto green

Mackenzie Hughes followed up a poor shot at the par-4 first hole Thursday in the Canadian Open with an unbelievable recovery shot from beside a tree.
The 26-year-old's drive landed inches from the base of the tree, leaving a tricky second shot into the green. Hughes stood over the ball and then carved his iron from beside the trunk onto the putting surface, leaving a six-foot birdie attempt.
The Dundas, Ontario native would convert the putt for his third birdie of the day.
